Tips:
You can use bullet points in essays (Reader needs to understand)
Explain strategies (ie Evidence Charts)
Always talk about "why" (I choose this strategy based on [using evidence from text])
You don't need to remember running records symbols (They may call it miscue analysis)
Case Study:
Always one student.
You will receive background information about a student subject. This information may include transcriptions of observations, teacher/student dialogue, student samples, and a battle of assorted literacy assessments included to illustrate the studetn's reading perofrmance
(Probably see Phonemic Awareness, miscue analysis, student samples, etc.)
You may use "Words Their Way" or "Gentry"; you don't need to name these sources but understand where these sources come from. It'll say what the students are doing.
The candidate will answer in three ways:
Access the students' reading performance addressing both strengths and weaknesses (Start with strengths)
Describe specific instructional strategies for this student based on the data
Justify why these strategies would be effective
Whatever you teach, the assessment needs to match!
Build on what a student already knows first.
Words include space between and after letters. _bank_
Shred. This is a blend, but RICA wise it's actually a cluster. (sh--r)
